Last August in Denmark the Spring-Summer 2022 women’s fashion shows of Copenhagen Fashion Week were held. There are many collections of Scandinavian brands that tells a marked and bohemian femininity, with flounced dresses, puffed sleeves and lively patterns, all elements often in contrast with the minimal and clean lines of tailored and androgenic suits.
As for knitwear, we can see many handmade or simulated crochet effects, ribbed-knit total looks, cardigans with different fits, super fitted or oversized, shorter or longer to wear like dresses.
Among the collections and brands seen on the runway in Copenhagen there is the Danish brand Baum and Pferdgarten. The founders of the brand Helle Hestehave and Rikke Baumgarten create fashion for women who want to have fun in their personal expression and tell their story.
Their garments are very versatile and can be worn by different types of women for physicality and character. The colors range from optical white to light and technical grays to bright limes and oranges and then to light blue, pink-purple and finally black. Among the knitted pieces a ribbed cardigan-dress with central buttoning and some jacquard suits with geometric patterns and fringed edges.
To create their latest spring-summer collection for the brand Holzweiler, designers Maria Skappel Holzweiler and Duy Dinh Ngo thought about travel, at a time when not being able to physically travel, they sought inspiration through computer channels. The collection therefore takes the title of “In Transit”.
As for knitwear, we find some items with printed yarns with a space-dyed effect along with many ribbed items, such as the cardigan of the first look, the black cardigan-dress or men’s shorts with a sporty look.
Special mention for the openwork garment in a mix of blue handmade knitted, created in a very particular way; all employees of the brand, about one hundred people, were asked to make a knitted swatch by hand-knitting, when they returned from the summer holidays all the pieces were sewn together to make up the dress!
Ganni is now synonymous of modernity and free expression of oneself, with this latest collection the brand brings to the catwalk some knitted dresses with side splits with a minimal and romantic flavor, a mohair or alpaca cardigan and a multicolor one that seems handmade and with a vintage and modern taste at the same time.
The brand is now universally recognized and appreciated precisely for the eclectic and eccentric taste made of a mixture of many elements, and a fun and bold tone that shouts freedom of expression and creativity of the woman who wears it.
From the Stine Goya collection, the suits in a mix of typical patterns of the brand include some checked knit pieces, a round neck and some vests that dampen the fluidity of the floral and abstract patterns and create a truly bold and young mix. The combination of colors is interesting and fresh.
From Remain by Birger Christensen 4 knitted outfits, in two of which we find the theme of crochet-like openwork knit in different garments but always in total black.
Maja Dixdotter creative director of By Malene Birger brings really beautiful suits and knitted dresses to the show. Mainly garments with narrower or wider ribs, the colors range from neutral earth-beige to black with hints of orange and black and white suits.
Among the many others fashion shows of the Copenaghen fashion week, here it is a selection of photos of interesting knitted garments from the collections: Soulland, Munthe, Teatum Jones, Rodbjer, Marimekko.
